What Causes Frequent Heart Palpitations And Numbness In The Leg?

I had pounding palpitations in my chest Friday afternoon, TIA symptoms on Saturday afternoon, Monday night I woke up at 12am with my chest pounding, Wednesday I had an aura migraine and pins and needles in my left foot/toe, Thursday my toe is numb and having spasm/palpitation sensations in my left leg - about a hand length up from my ankle bone - should I be concerned????? I have been diagnosed with Patent Foramen Ovulae, my blood shunts in reverse when under pressure (bubble test) and I am now taking low dose aspirin.

Hi dear ,

As per your query your wife have frequent heart palpitations and numbness in the leg . Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition like atrial fibrillation . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist without any delay for proper diagnosis , because it can lead to heart failure and rule out causes like stress and anxiety , muscle spasm and nerve dysfunction . Doctor may order certain test like ECG and examine with stethoscope . Doctor may prescribe treatment for restoring your ventricular rate. Beta blockers, like Atenolol, Carvedilol, Propranolol, and others can slow the heart rate. Calcium channel blockers, such as Dilitiazem and Verapamil, are another class of drug used to slow the beating of the ventricles . Leg numbness can also occur due to condition like sciatica , consult orthopedic surgeon for it . For now take proper rest and do not exert your body .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
