What Causes Frequent Dizziness While Suffering From High BP?

Hello! I have high blood pressure so I do take medication for it. In the past two weeks I have been experiencing dizzy spells, which are intense some mornings. I also come from a family where some of the women have anemia. I did have a partial hysterectomy in the past. Can you have low iron if you have a hysterectomy.

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Some medications for hypertension can cause dizziness. For this it important to know since how long have you been taking meds for hypertension? As the blood pressure is reduced and causes vasodilatation in brain also, dizziness can occur.
Also if the meds for hypertension are more than what you require and causing unnecessary lowering of BP below normal levels can also cause dizziness.
Hysterectomy won’t cause as such anemia but yes anemia due to some other causes can also cause dizziness.
I would like to advise you to consult your doctor regarding hypertension medications and any modifications required after checking your blood pressure. To revise the meds again as per required by you. Also better to get a hemoglobin checked to see whether anemia is present or not so as to treat is found anemic.
I hope I answered your question satisfactorily. If you have any more query kindly write back to me, will be happy to help you out.
Thank you.
