What Causes Frequent Bowel Movement?

I have recently ( 3 weeks ago) quit smoking. I also am eating extremely clean and healthy and increasing my protein intake and working out. The last few days I have literally been having bowel movements well over 5 times a day. They are small, but look healthy I suppose. It s kind of irritated feeling inside, but when I wipe the surface wich I would think would hurt, it actually feels almost relieving. I m kinda freaked out by it. I M now taking a multivitamin, whey protein, creatine, and a thermogenic just to give you some background info.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of quitting smoking, eating clean and healthy, increased protein intake and working out; increased bowel movements well over 5 times a day, irritated feeling inside, taking multivitamins, whey proteins, creatine and thermogenic...
From the history you have provided this looks to be reaction of the intestines to the changed diet you have made.
I would advise you the following:
First of all revert back to the normal diet you were takinng.
Send the stool for tests and the blood for routine, thyroid, liver functions.
If the infection is present, go for antibiotic course and you will be fine.
Take probiotics and continue multivitamins.
