My 26 year old son just recently had a hernia repair, for an umbilical hernia. There was no mesh used. It had been less than a week since his surgery when my son and I had to break up a bad dog fight. My son pulled a very muscular pit bull off of another large dog. Unfortunately the pit bull landed very hard onto my sons stomach at the surgery site. My son has been in a lot of pain and has been back to see his surgeon several times. She said that we needed to wait and see what s going on after the swelling goes down. This is now 6 weeks later, my son is in more pain now than before the surgery. There is still swelling. My son as seen his internal medicine doctor and had an ultrasound. We got a call yesterday telling us that his navel is fractured. My daughter in law took the message. The doctor wants him to come back in or go to the hospital . What is a fractured navel and how do you treat it?
