What Causes Foul Smelling White Discharge From Vagina?

Hi Doctor I am 34 yrs old not married yet living with my boyfriend.My period is regular but sometimes lasted for 10 days (heavy period and painful for the first 2 days). Last month my period lasted for 5 days only but after my period I have excessive discharge (whitesh colour and like watery) I even used up to 2 to 3 pads per day. And it never stop until this month regular period until now I have this discharge without smell, I have this habit whenever I change my pads I smell and it's not smelly until for the past 2 days my discharge became brownish colour and the odour smells like spoiled egg. Every day gets stronger I can even smell myself coz I am very that particular with the smell with myself and I need to change my pad every now and then, can consume 4 to 5 pads every day . With this I am worried, I have an appointment with obgynae on Monday afternoon I want to get your opinion on this please.Thank you.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due bacterial vaginosis associated with yeast infection. But if you have more extensive discharge then a pelvic inflammatory disease should be ruled out. A pelvic examination with a gynecologist followed by an ultrasound if needed and a swab will be needed to rule out the condition. In case of bacterial vaginosis or infection antibiotic therapy will be needed. I usually give metronidazole or clindamycin with clotrimazole as oral tab or vaginal suppository. I also advise to use intimate wash regularly in my patients to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent from getting further infections. Hope this may help you.
