What Causes Foul Smell In Nose After Deviated Septum Repair And Polyps Removal?
i just had all sinus cavities cleaned out and my septum that was deviatate was repaired. I went back to the dr after 2 weeks and the right side was not healing right and polyps were reforming on that side. so he put me on a steroid and a nasal steroid to mix with the nasal wash on one side the right side. i too always seems to smell a foul smell and is not coming from my breath. i just smell it and it drives me crazy. i just keep cleaning thinking it something in the house that needs cleaning and then i keep smelling . i decided to enter this question in google and was surprised to see this has happened to people before. I am still having headaches on my right side right over my right eye is this smell related to my sinus?
As per your query you have foul smell in nose after deviated septum repair and polyps removal . Well there are number of reasons that can be responsible for nose bleeding like sinusitis , a blocked or stuffy nose often caused by an infection such as a cold or flu , hay fever or other allergies or minor injury . It seems to me that probable reason for foul smell and bleeding is infection either bacterial or viral . I would suggest you to keep your head elevated while sleeping , take benadryl , maintain proper oral hygiene and consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain test to find out the exact cause and treat it . Doctor may recommend nasal endoscopy and surgery in case of deviated septum or nasal polyp.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
