What Causes Foamy Saliva In The Mouth Of Infants?

Hi, my 5wks old has been having spitting problems so we switched her formula. last couple days i noticed her mouth is full of slimy foamy saliva and she sometimes choke on it. she has that this morning and also spat up a chunk of thick formula. what is wrong?

Hi and thanks for this query.

The most common cause of this in infants is regurgitation of feeds. Please, do not feed the child so much at once. make it in smaller volumes and increased frequencies daily. Also, avoid putting hi too soon after feeding to sleep!
