What Causes Fluttery Feeling Of Heart After Alcohol Consumption?

When I drink two glasses of wine, I get a very fluttery feeling in my chest 5 - 6 hours later when I go to bed, and it
can last as long as one half hour. I've just worn a heart monitor, and when this event happens, my heart is not at all involved. My heart rate doesn't even increase. I'm wondering what it could be?

Hi,

Alcohol can irritate the lining of the food pipe and that can cause retro-sternal chest discomfort. This is a possible reason for your symptoms. Try taking some antacids and see if that brings you relief.

Best wishes.
