What Causes Fluttering Sensation In Chest?

Hi there, I m a 22 year old asthmatic male, for the past at least 5 years, maybe longer I ve had strange fluttering on the top left of my chest, above the heart but it feels like its above the rib cage/just under my skin. It doesn t always happen, but when it happens it s always when I exhale nearly all the air from my lungs or if I laugh for an extended period of time. There is no pain or discomfort with it, just feels strange. I ve seen doctors before and nothing wrong was found.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In asthma patients spasm of lung or tachycardia can cause fluttering feeling in chest.
Since your all reports are normal, I think you might be having anxiety related chest fluttering.
But I still advice you to get done ECG and PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out tachycardia and lung spasm respectively, as a cause for your fluttering.
If both are negative than no need to worry much.
Anxiety related problem appears more.
So avoid stress and tension.
Be relax and calm.
Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions to identify stressor in your life and start working on it.
