I am 19 Wks 5 days pregnant. I had my 19 Wk ultrasound 3 days ago and have received a call advising their is some fluid in the cervix and I have to go for a follow up ultrasound in 3 wks to have a better look at it. My Cervix it tightly closed which I was told is how it should be. What could cause the fluid?? What could the fluid be??Why was this not detected at the 12 wk scan??
Sorry I am quite anxious as I am not sure what the fluid means??
hi thanks for writing to us this is the first time i have heard of fluid in the cervical canal i strongly recommend a repeat scan as observer variation is there if os is tight closed and if cervix is of adequate length there is nothing to worry repeat a ultrasound and get back to us hope this information was useful
