What Causes Fluid Filled Blisters In The Groin Area?
Hi , a few days ago there was a small white head looking pimple on the upper part of mons pubis area. I am sexually active and to my knowledge no stds. I will be getting my period this week also. I shave and a few more have popped up one was as far as under my belly button and one on bikini line.. I m torn to be concerned or if it s razor burn. They don t itch or hurt.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The white colored lesions are not likely to be due to any sexually transmitted disease (STD). They seem to be due to side effect of shaving with a razor. Shaving with a razor can lead to cuts on skin, infection of cut skin, infection of skin adnexa- hair follicles or sweat glands. On the contrary, they can also be due to allergy to undergarment. I suggest you to with hold shaving of the area and consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment to determine the likely origin of these lesions. Management of these lesions depends on the clinical diagnosis. Allergy is managed by change of under garment material. Skin cuts and infections can be managed with antibiotics.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
