What Causes Fluid Discharge During Pregnancy After Having Pessary Tablet ?

I am currently 31weeks and 5days pregnant. I was prescribed some anti biotics for a water infection which has then caused me to have thrush which my doctor gave me a pessary tablet for (Clotrimazole) and I used it last night. Woke up this morning with white chalky stuff in my pants which I assumed is the tablet but also alot of fluid which had leaked through to my trousers. Is this normal?

Dear Friend,

You seem to have fungal vaginal infection. Clotrimazol pessaries are anti fungal.

After you insert the pessaries in the vagina, they get dissolved inside the vagina and act against the fungus. Naturally, the dissolved medicine flows out of vagina when you stand. Not an issue of concern.

Please take following care during the treatment. This applies to you and your sexual partner also:
1. Both of you should follow these instructions simultaneously.
2. Both of you should undergo simultaneous treatment.
3. Shave the private parts clean to avoid reinfection.
4. Everyday, boil the underwear.
5. Cut the nails short.
6. Observe complete sexual abstinence till the treatment is completed.
7. Complete the treatment by religious adherence to the medicines.
8. Lie down for minimum two hours to prevent the pessary from following out.
