What Causes Fluctuating TSH Levels?

I have not had period for 2 years and i am 45 yrs. old. It seemed mixture of pre-menopausal symptoms and possible Thyroid fluctuation. The last 3 years my TSH levels have been fluctuating. 2.97,1.99, 3.24, and 5.45 this past December. Though when I look at the symptoms it seems most hyper-thyroidism describes my past symptoms??? I wanted to know what the numbers are for Hyper in comparison to Hypo??

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

The normal range of TSH is 0,4-4,0 and all your TSH levels are within the normal range except the last.High level of TSH means hypothyroidism.

My advice is to meet an endocrinologist in your area and discuss with him your actual thyroid condition and what can you do for the premenstrual syndrom symptoms Hormone replacement therapy can be a possible solution to take in consideration.

Hope i have answered to your question.
Thank you for using HCM.
Wish you good health.
