What Causes Flash Of Light In The Eye After Looking At Screen?

I just all of a sudden developed a flash of light or spot right now in my left eye. I was reading the newspaper when I noticed it and it didn't go away that was like 4 hours ago. I still see it if I look at a computer screen or t.v. screen. I also see it when I close my right eye to look through my left eye. I am scared and don't know what to do.

Hello there,
I can understand your concern. The problem you are facing should not be ignored. Flash of light could mean retinal (nerve part of the eye) damage or detachment. This needs to be evaluated by an ophthalmologist who will put drops in your eyes and dilate your eyes to get a view of the retina. Sometimes even a rise in pressure in the eyes can produce these symptoms. So please do not ignore and visit an ophthalmologist urgently.
Take care.
