What Causes Few Blood Clots After Urination With Urge To Pee Again?

Hi , I m very worried as this morning I went to the toilet and I have spotted not big but fairly small blood clots on the toilet paper after passing urine. I often have problems with passing urine and have a sensation that I cannot leave the toilet as the urgent feelings to pee , however I would only pass little drops . It happened more frequently now (2-3 times a week) and it s effecting me in many ways. Also a few times they have diagnosed blood in my urine which I took medication for; I also have a lower and abdominal pain. I have consulted a doctor however, I have been told its just UTI s and I should drink plenty of water . Please help! Thank you .

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
First of your age and sex is very important with this history.
This kind of problem is common in old age male due to benign prostatic hyperplasia with or without infection.
If you are male then you should go for ultrasound abdomen to check your prostate. If you are female then it may be due to simple urinary tract infection and you should go for urine routine and microscopic examination as well as culture and sensitivity test. the you should take antibiotic treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
