My 42 year-old husband woke up this morning with a fever, visibly swollen parotid glands and swollen ankles. We have just found out I'm pregnant (5weeks) so we're very scared he has the mumps. .........................................................................

hello thanks for the consult at hcm..it could be bacterial sialadenitis too,, adn differential includes mumps ,since also having fever,, do not give hot fermentation it will tend to spread more,, kindly consult his general physician asap and he has to follow strict personal hygiene ,,since ur 5 weeks pregnant..he may need analgesics, antiinflammatory,,a dn if bacterial--antibiotics,,hope it helps,,tc
