Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am suffering from fever from last 1 week, some time fever goes down automatically, but from last 2 days it was not going down. So it mean I got infected from some virus. Today I am feeling restless and pain in body. So do I need to go for doctor to check up. Or I need to do some blood tests. Please confirm.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Looking at your complaints, it appears that you would be suffering from Viral fever. However, other possibilities cannot be ruled out. You need to get the following tests done so that if any abnormality detected could be addressed accordingly. 1. Complete Blood Count with peripheral smear 2. Urine test for culture and sensitivity 3. WIDAL test to rule out typhoid 4. Thick smear for malarial parasites 5. Chest X-ray If no abnormality is found, then it is viral origin fever and will subside on its own with symptomatic treatment. If anything is abnormal, kindly approach a Physician with report for further management. In the mean time, for fever, you can take Paracetamol 650mg tablet. Drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself well hydrated. Hope you get well soon.
