What Causes Fever, Muscle Pain And Tinnitus?

I am a 50 year old female and have had a virus over last week - painful in swallowing, fever, muscle aches and sore skin. My fever is now 37.4 but I can hear a pulsing noise in my ear like pulsatile tinitus and I feel generally unwell. My BP is 145/85 and heart rate is 103bpm. I feel dizzy when on my feet. I have been unwell since Monday so do you think this is still the virus. I am generally fit and well, not on any medication. My weight is normal 9.5 stone for my height of 5'4".

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fever, muscle pain and tinnitus . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like sinusitis , pulsative tinnitus and ear infection . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan for sinusitis and examine ear with otoscope along with blood tests . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) along with decongestant and expectorant and drug like eprisone . For now take proper rest , take steam several times a day which will help in reliving congestion and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
