What Causes Fever And Rashes On The Body?

My son has had a fever for about 5 days now, he got a rash on the second night which is now fading, it doesn t seem to be very pruitic. The rash is unidentifiable by our doctor but I am worried that we can t identify the cause of his fever. His also has bad breath today- our doctor said due to dehydration, though we have him on pedialyte. Are there any other conditions that could be causing his condition. Probably something more rare since the symptoms match no known, common illnesses. My son is 22 months old and has been fully vaccinated.

Hello
Let me assure you that fever and rash are very common symptoms that happen to children specially during his age. It is usually due to viral infection. The pattern of rash is the criteria that can differentiate one virus from the other. From your description it seems to me that it is Roseola. Don't worry about the condition as it is self limiting and your son will be fine in the coming days.
