What Causes Fever And Chills During Pregnancy?

My wife is 35 weeks pregnant started having pain at lower belly and back side. Here OB said that is normal as time as the pervlic and joints are expanding and the baby is dropping. However over the last few days she started having Fever and Shaking chills (rigors)

I understand your concerns.
Fever towards the end of pregnancy is something that should not be taken lightly. This is because there are some maternal infections (like urinary tract infections) that can adversely affect the the fetus leading to neonatal infection.
In my opinion, I would suggest she sees a doctor for assessment and testing.
Malaria could also be another cause if you are in a malaria endemic area.
