What Causes Fever Along With Headaches During Postpartum Menstrual Cycle?

Two days ago my first period started after delivering my son. This was 5 weeks after delivery. I started to have severe body aches, joint pain, extreme convulsing chills, headache and 100+ fever. The fever broke during the night but everything else is still present. Is this related to the period or something on its own?

Hi.

I believe the presentation indicates something else and not the period, but without extra details I cannot be too sure. Your doctor is of course the best judge. But if the fever is being treated with antipyretics that means it is being suppressed which means it could still be present. Request your doctor for a blood test to rule out infections.

Best wishes.
