What Causes Feeling Movements In Abdomen While Being On Implanon?

Hi I got the rod implant over a year and and ago and I honestly feel like I m pregnant iv put on a lot of weight and snacking on food that I never would have eaten weird craving feeling little kicks and alot of movement in my stomach but I am putting that down to my bowl movment I hope! It feels like my rod is snapped in half but not sure I am a mother of one so have experience pregnancy before and my symptoms are the same .Is there any way I could be pregnant

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Implanon is intermediate dose progestrin only contraceptive- which avoids ovulation in most of the cycles- but some maturity of ovarian follicles is possible. Because of this there is a very rare chance of pregnancy with implanon type of contraceptive- specially when it is displaced/ snapped.
*So,though weight gain, digestive problems with excess gasses are known side effects of implanon, would suggest abdomnal sonography/ Home pregnancy test to exclude pregnancy.
It is said that the hormone in implanon does not harm fetus in case of pregnancy- implanon should be removed
* Mostly the pregnancy would be -ve- & the dietary restrictions, daily exercises ( specially abdominals), walking along with digestive enzyme supplements would relieve you of the problem.
