What Causes Fatigue While On Obestatin And Carvedilol?
I have been onibestatan to about three years with carvedilol. I have just read your imfomation. I have been feeling very fatigued for some time very sleepy in mornings after taking these pills , better as the days go on.This week I decided to cut out some of these pills . The Doctor had prescribed Iberstartan 150mg and Carvediilol 12mg. I feel much less sleepy on reduced pills, are there side effects coming off these too quickly. I have become rather tearful and cross a bit afraid I might become depressed.......thank you .A C L

Carvedilol is a beta blocker used for treatment of hypertension and certain heart conditions.
Tiredness and depressed feelings are side effects of carvidelol. However you should not decrease the dose or stop taking carvedilol and Irbesartan without consulting your doctor first, as this can result in worsening of the condition for which the medication is being given.
Benefits of using beta blockers especially for heart failure outweigh the risks from side effects. So I recommend that you consult with your doctor as soon as possible, so that he/she can assess you and switch you to another medication/adjust the dose /dosing schedule accordingly.
I suggest you continue taking the prescribed dose of these medications until you follow up with your doctor.
If you have suicidal thoughts/thoughts of hurting yourself associated with feeling depressed, I recommend immediately going to the emergency room and seek help.
I also recommend getting thyroid hormone levels (TSH, FREE T3, FREE T4), as hypothyroidism can also cause tiredness, sleepiness and depression.
