These symptoms include strong smell etc. The episodes should be taken seriously You may need to start medicines called antiepileptic drugs. The drugs are however serious medicines and need a regular neurologist uptake. Since he has alzheimers disease, I think it would be good to meet your regular neurologist again and have the medicines prescribed. An MRI brain may also be needed I hope this helps you.
