What Causes Eye Twitching And Headaches?

For the last five weeks I've been dealing with my right eye twitching. As of last week I'm now waking up with headaches. I'm 33 yrs old, I exercise six days a week, eat well, drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning... etc. etc. I'm not overly stressed out either...

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having twitching of the eyes.
The common causes are stress, over use of caffeine containing drinks...
Hence as of now you need to avoid these things and take multivitamin supplements as they are known to be helpful.
If the symptoms persist you nerd to consult your neurologist to rule out tics and spasms.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you

Ophthalmologist Dr. Pratik Gandhi's  Response
Well I reviewed your history...

First of all lets make it clear that you are dealing with two different problems not correlated with each other...

Twitching : basically its lack of Calcium @ neuro muscular junction leading to bizzare action potential & hence twitches... In short there's Calcium deficiency @ tissue level...
Apparently there's no treatment for it except Botox injections which has its own hazards... So I don't advice it unless your twitches are disturbing your daily routine markedly...

So better continue with it... Well dry hot compressions may give symptomatic relief... You can try it @ home...

Secondly , headache : it has more than 100 cause , one of them being uncorrected retractive error... So I advice to consult your Ophthalmologist for its correction...

For further queries please let me know...
Regards,
Dr. Pratik Gandhi,
M.S. ( Ophthal )
