What Causes Eye Puffiness?

I am a 55 year female with type 2 diabetes. Along with a relatively good diet and meds my numbers are under control. Presently, I am experiencing a pocket of fluid above my left eye showing through the eyelid. Puffiness under the eye. No injury-no trama- no infection that I know of. No allergies. There are times when the eyes runs so type of fluid. It is not itchy or irritated-but I can tell it is there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
i appreciate your concern
puffiness of eye might be due to thyroid disorders other than allergy and infection of eyelid

in my opinion you should visit your GP for thyroid function tests to rule out/ confirm thyroid disorders

Please make a visit to eye doctor if thyroid comes to be normal than it might be a stye due to infection of eyelid which a common presentation with diabetes

Hope this addresses your question
wishing you good health
take care
