Hello, for last few years I hardly ever feel good, I have to push my self to do things around the house and in life. I constantly feel sleepy and lazy eyes all day along even if I am watching TV or what ever. I usually get 8 hours of sleep every night. Still, the next day I will feel sleepy through out the day... I can take a nap for 3 hours in the afternoon and still sleep 8 hours at night without problem. Next day, will feel fatigue and lazy all day. First of all we need to find out if this problem is a physical one or emotional one. Excessive sleepiness could be either due to depression, boredom etc. and also it could be due to a sluggish liver or an underactive thyroid which maybe responsible for lack of energy and sleepiness. Of late, have you put on weight? If weight gain has occurred in the past, then you must get your thyroid checked. Are you eating well? Lack of essential nutrients in the diet are also responsible for low energy levels. I would suggest you to stay outdoors in fresh air for some time. This will boost your energy levels.
If depression is the main cause, then you must consult a psychologist for treating depression. Chronic depression can also result in excessive sleepiness, lack of interest in activities. Are you taking any medications? Sometimes it could be a side effect of some medications too.
