What Causes Extreme Cough When Inhaling Cleaning Chemicals?

When I smell cleaning products, perfumes, scented lotions, cigarette/cigar smoke and other chemical scents, I begin to cough and become hoarse and loose my voice for many hours. At times, I feel as if I am having trouble swallowing and breathing, I have also had my lips feel numb. I have been told that it is not an allergy. I can take fast melt Benadryl and it will help with the symptoms except for the laryngitis. It is beginning to affect my job. What is your opinion as to what causes the symptoms? This has been going on for many years and it seems to be increasing in frequency.

hello..
it can be an allergy...i don't know who told you it is not allergy..
do you have any other health issues..did you lose weight?
where do you work?how long have you been working there?
it is better if you get yourself examined by a physician ..a thorough clinical examination and necessary blood investigations, xray/ scans have to be done..
if the problem is just due to allergy then you have to avoid allergens(best treatment for allergy)
it is better if you don't delay..
if you have anymore doubts feel free to message me..
I find this answer helpful
