What Causes Excruciating Pain In The Leg With Titanium Rods, Plates And Screws?

My fiance broke his leg and ankle in several places and now has titanium rods, plates and screws. It's been one year since the injury. Last night he began feeling excruciating pain in the leg and ankle. Pain meds aren't touching it. Any suggestions for relief?

Hi,
Just the mere presence of rods and screws cannot be a cause of pain in the lower limb .Pain may be due to other reasons like subsequent trauma or infection. It may also be a pain not related to this rods.It may just be muscular pain.Pls do not worry.Do get one x ray get it seen by your orthopaedician. If the fracture is healing well , then there is nothing to worry about.
Take some analgesics for a day or 2 like t.microcid 25 mg 1-0-1
