What Causes Excessive Watery Vaginal Discharge?

I recently thought I had a yeast infection so I bought a kit. A completely different one then I m used to as well. (While taking it I experienced a burning sensation) And ive noticed after taking it the type of discharge I have has changed. Before my yeast infection I had thick yellowish to white discharge and a large amount of it as well. Now I have thin watery like discharge and not very much. Should I be worried ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,

I understand your concern.

The presence of unusual vaginal discharge is suggestive of possible vaginal infection.

A vaginal swab testing will determine if it's bacterial or yeast infection.

The burning sensation you felt when applying vaginal suppositories could be due to:
- intolerance to the meds
- the mucosa of the vagina could be lacerated, and when applying suppositories, it starts to burn

However, that is not worrisome in either case.

Sometimes, ovulation is associated with watery vaginal discharge. If it is not present every day, but in certain days, I advise to see when they are noted as related to your periods.

Once again, vaginal swab testing will help determine the right diagnosis.

Hope this helps.
