Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You have one episode of sudden onset sleepiness while you were standing in a public place. This should not be ignored and such attacks of sleep could occur due to sleep disorders most likely narcolepsy. In narcolepsy sudden onset attacks of sleep occurs. One episode is not sufficient to make diagnosis so I would advise you to visit a sleep specialist or neuropsychiatrist to get expert opinion. Polysomnography is needed to make diagnosis.

The symptoms can be treated with proper medicines, controlled sleep. Medicines like Modafinil, Armodafinil helps to maintain awareness and result in prevention of attacks. Visit a psychiatrist for treatment.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
