What Causes Excessive Salivation With Throat Pain?

I ve been having excessive salivation recently along with pain in my throat. My throat has felt sore lately and I am wondering if it could be tonsillitis? Symptoms began two days ago when I was tearing down old wood from my grandpa s house where there was A LOT of dust!

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to respiratory tract infection like tonsillitis. Only home treatment and rest is required initially. You can do warm saline gargle, take warm fluids like lemon tea with honey, chicken soup with pepper etc. You can also take over the counter anti histamines like benadryl and analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Usually respiratory infection will be viral and will last at least 5 days. If there is no improvement or high fever or yellow phlegm then you should approach your GP and in such case antibiotics will be needed.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
