What Causes Excessive Chapped Lips?

My lips are severely chapped and every time the skin on my lip comes back, it always falls off and has to start the process all over. It looks horrible when the skin tries to grow back but It's like its not even growing back normally its loose and hard to keep from falling off so it can actually grown abck and give me healthy lips that dont have skin coming back again and again trying to re grow itself. So i am wondering what can i start putting on my lips so that they actually have a chance to be healthy?

Hi.
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
As per your description it seems that you are having very much discomfort with chapped lips.
Its quiet common in winter season you would become symptom free once the climate switches.
You can try a good lip balm, make sure that it contain petroleum jelly and dimethicone as contents. You need to apply six to eight times per day for better results.
Drink plenty of water and include more fruits and vegetables in your diet, the antioxidants in the fruits protect your lips.
Use humidifier in your room,These device improve moisture content in the air and protect your lips from peeling off.
In extreme cases you may require steroid containing ointments, but use only under the observation of a dermatologist.

Hope this information helps.

Regards.
