What Causes Excessive Bleeding During Menstruation?

hello, i had a baby about 8 weeks ago via c section and had my menstruation that was about 5 days long and ended about 2 weeks ago, now for about 4 days i have been bleeding when i go to the bathroom, from both sides. It's not a lot, except today when i saw the toilet water was filled with blood, this morning it was a lot and once today, also noticed a couple small clots today and yesterday, but its only when going to the bathroom, only spotted in underwear 3 times, (twice from the front and once from the back) but it was very little, little less than the size of a dime. ashle

Hi,
I understand your concern.
After delivery, menstruation is irregular with more or less flow-- all of this being hormonal imbalance after delivery. The raised proportion of pregnancy hormones take some time to reset back. Lactational hormones add to the imbalance.
The excessive bleeding needs to be treated under a gynecologist's care.A dose of drugs arresting bleeding ( like CVP Gynae/ Taxanamic acid) help.
Thanks.
