What Causes Excess Skin On My Eyeball?

I have what i have been told is excess skin on my eyeball it started just on the white of my eye but now looks like it is starting to go on the colored part of my eyes it doesn't affect my eyesight at all but I am very self conscious of it what could this be?

it appears to be pterigium. if it grows towards cornea and reaches pupilary area imay effect your vision. get it examined by eye doctor and confirm it. if it is pterigium then istobe resected with affine section. there is no medicine to cure it
