Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Regarding your query for excessive salivation during sleep i would like to say according to your symptoms, I am suspecting that you are having acidity which might have cause this excess salivation and you got relief by drinking some water.

Other causes of excessive salivation are-

1- Stomatitis (ulcers in mouth).

2- Dyspepsia.

3- Gingivitis.

4- Glossitis.

5- Ludwig's angina (infection of floor of mouth).

All above may be diagnoned by a thorough clinical examination.
