What Causes Enlarged Taste Buds?

Hi, i am 29 weeks pregnant and have had pulpy, bleeding gums this last few weeks while pregnant as well as a few mouth ulcers. Last Friday I noticed on the back of my to tongue I have raised red spots in a v shape towards my throat. My tongue also has a white coating. I have been using a medicated mouthwash corsoydol to see if that helps and altho my gums have improved and the ulcer has gone my tongue still has enlarged taste buds. Appreciate your help as I am worried about this.

Hello
Wish you all the best for your pregnancy.
At this stage of pregnancy taking medications is not done.....more so you dont have problem that needs medications. Your mouth ulcer will heal completely. Continue using a good mouthwash, maintain a good oral hygiene, take green veg and fruits.
Coming to the swellings on the back of your tongue in a v shape....do not worry about them as they are normal anatomical structures called circumvalate papillae. Take care and enjoy your motherhood.....
