What Causes Elevation In Cholesterol And ESR Levels?

Hi Sir , i m Smitha , an Indian, 40 yeras, married and no children. Now taking infertility treatment in homeopathy .yesterday i tested my blood. It results Sugar - normal, ESR- 85 mm/hr and cholesterol - 220. what could be the reason for high ESR and colostreol?

Dear patient
Increased ESR is non specific finding and cannot point to particular diagnosis. ESR is raised in any chronic disease and even tuberculosis. It has value only when considered along with other tests. Increased cholesterol levels is due to increased fat intake and obesity. If you are taking too much fat in diet it's converted to cholesterol and stored in body. It may be seen in obese patients. Since sugar is normal you are not diabetic. All the best.
