What Causes Elevated White Blood Cell Count While Having Diabetes?

For the last two years, my white blood cell count has been elevated, about 2 points over what is considered "normal". My doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned and has suggested we "keep an eye on it". I am a 54 year old post menopausal, female. I am overweight, diabetic and had my mitral valve replaced about 15 years ago. I am on coumadin and many other meds. My paternal grandfather died from leukemia and my mother has VonHilldibrands.

Dear madam i can understand your concern
relax nothing to worry about
the white blood cell count is a very dynamic.
There will be increased in white blood cell count in may regular physiological and pathological conditions.
They are
1.Dehydration and stress
2.common cold
3.allergies
4.any infection anywhere in body.
this are few very common conditions which will cause increase in white blood counts
conditions like cancer also increase the counts but the increase of count will be so enormous that it will reach >18000.
so as your doc suggested kindly repeat your counts every three months and keep a eye on it
