What Causes Elevated Potassium Levels?

Worried because I am missing a pulse about every 10 beats. Checked my pulse because my heart felt kind of heavy at times. Have scheduled an appointment with my family practice doctor for tomorrow. Just am upset and hope it s not too serious. I had an elevated potassium level of 5.7 a few weeks ago, which was rechecked on July 3rd, but I haven t gotten those results yet. Have had this feeling in my heart for about 3-4 weeks, but checked my pulse for the first time tonight.

hi mam/sir,you have a very good observation of your pulse.its good that you are able to count the missed beats.irregularities in heart rate can be diagnosed by ECG.hyperkalemia can also present with palpitations.there is another entity called ventricular premature complexes that fits into your symptoms.but do not panic.with accurate diagnosis and treatment, you can overcome it.stress, anxiety, smoking, caffeine also increase irregularities in heart rate.so just relax and go for a consultation.take care.any other issues,i'm always there to attend.thank you.bye.
