What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes?

Urine test with RBC at 3-10 urine color Amber Appearance Turbid Bun/Creatinine Ratio low at 7 and AST SGOT high at 57 and ALT SGOT high at 73 what does this mean for a 31 year old alcoholic male that has high cancer deaths in family? His father and 3 uncles

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
These are moderately elevated liver markers which oindicates slight liver damage. Most common we seen it in fatty liver. If he has alcoholic liver disease quitting is the most important thing you can do.
Beneficial is also limiting high-carb foods such as bread, grits, rice, potatoes, and corn. And cut down on drinks with lots of sugar like sports drinks and juice. If there wont be improvement the next step is to look for certain liver damage and most common casue is fatty liver disease. It should be confirmed by ultrasound. Other causes are viral hepatitis,cirrhosis, medications, alcohol intake or autoimmune diseases. To verify exact cause, US, bilirubin levels and tumor markers should be additionaly done.
