What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes In A Child?

HI MY SON(6YEARS 6MONTHS) HAD LAST FIVE DAYS ON WARDS FEVER AND WE DONE SGOT & SGPT WITH DOCTOR SUGGESTION..NOW HE HAS SGOT=203 & SGPT=105, SO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT WAS THE REASON INCREASING SGOT & SGPT LEVELS AND NOW WHAT KIND OF CARE I HAVE TO TAKE FOR MY SON

Your child has high SGPT and SGOT. They are liver enzymes and indicate liver injury which along with fever indicates infection.can be by virus infection. Get ests done specially bilirubin. screening tests are required like HAV IgM, HEV IgM HBsAg .Once you get the tests done of your son consult your physician for physical examination and treatment.Take care !
