Hi,I had a total vaginal hysterectomy with my ovaries left in place on Tuesday, Jan 10th, 2012 and my morning blood sugars have been elevated since. Is this just a result of sugery and will they return to normal. I take 500mg Metformin 1x day and they had been great prior to surgery.

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
relax madam there is nothing alarming about it.
usually due to stress there will be increased stress related hormones in your body which will make your sugars to flare up a little.
in my opinion consider starting insulin and continue for a few days for better healing of wound and fast recovery.
take advice of your doctor for starting of insulin.
Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question fell free to write me back.I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
