My husband s height is 5 10 , weight-82, age-32.He has undergone a preventive health check up from thyocare. they have collected his blood sample and reported suggested raised bilirubin. his Bilirubin direct is 0.62, bilirubin indirect 1.27 and bilirubin total 1.89. We are fearing from jaundice or any other liver disease. Kindly advise us, as i am really scared.
Hi, Elevated Bilirubin can be due to many causes. first of all let me know if he is a diabetic. obesity can also cause slightly increased bilirubin due to existing fatty liver. However other causes like Viral hepatitis and alcoholic hepatitis should also be ruled out . He might require further investigations to tell whether there is any serious underlying cause like ultrasound abdomen viral profile screening
