Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic I understand your concerns
An increase in ESR is found in a good number of conditions. These include infections, inflammations, some cancerous growths, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, collagen-vascular diseases.
This test is not very specific. It gives only an idea that something is wrong somewhere. You need to talk about the lump in your breast with your attending physician. It may give an idea on what is causing the increase.
I hope I have answered your query I wish you good health
Elevated ESR is suggestive of chronic inflammation. It is not a diagnostic test. It reflects the underlying chronic inflammatory process that you have rule out. Regarding the lump in the breast you have to consult your GP.
