What Causes Ear Pain And Puss In Ear Which Was Operated?

sir my mother (aged 65 years) last 4 years back she has done ear operation now she is getting pain in the same ear when i have seen in the ear pus like formation is their , when i can show a doctor
( last 4 days back she has done cataract operation )

Hi, thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at the symptoms of your mother,it seems that she might be suffering from infection in the ear which was operated 4 years before.It has nothing to do with the operation as the symptoms have occurred after a long time.

Common cold is a common cause for ear infection.

She may find relief by taking Antibiotic-Antifungal combination ear drops, Analgesic (like Ibuprofen) with Antacid( like Rantac),Antihistaminic( like Cetrizine).

Also take precautions that no water should go inside ear while taking bath.Use of ear plug will protect the ear from water.Dont try to clean the ear by self as it may increase the infection.Avoid cold food,Dust as it may increase cold(if there is cold).

After your mother is able to go to hospital after cataract surgery,it would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist Doctor .
