What Causes Ear Pain Along With Blocked Nose And Cough In A Child?
yes I have a six year old who is saying his ear hurts. He is coughing and has a stuffy nose. I have given him Sudafed cold and cough for children. I will take him to physician first thing in the am for the ear infection. In the mean time I wanted to know if there was anything I could do for him to make him more comfortable until morning.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of ear pain along with blocked nose and cough. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ear infection . In your case it seems to me that the infection in your ear has spread from upper respiratory tract infection through eustachian , which usually occur when upper respiratory tract infection left untreated and due to low immunity. Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. I would suggest you take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. You should do warm saline gargles and apply warm dry compress to external ear. You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may examine with otoscope and rule out condition like acoustic neuroma and meniere's disease. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with cough expectorant and decongestant.
