What Causes Ear Pain After Sea Water Gets Into Ear?
Hello, I recently went to the beach yesterday evening and some sea water got into my right ear. I couldn t hear properly out of the ear for a while but, when I woke up I regained all hearing. However, I realize that there is a pain in my right ear every time I belch. There is not a pain when I yawn, sneeze or swallow; only when I belch. I am really concerned that this is a serious problem. I hope it isn t seeing as I had absolutely no issue with my ear yesterday morning. Please help
As per your query you have ear pain and hearing loss after swimming in sea water . Well this is very common problem after swimming . This is also known as swimmer's ear are external otitis or otitis externa. I would suggest you to not to swing until the ear get normal , try to keep you dry and give dry warm compresses to the external ear . Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor will take history and check with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or cephalexin at least for 5-6 days along with other treatment like anti inflammatory drugs .
