I have had dull and uncomfortable pain in my both of my rib cages for years. Over the past year the pain has switched to my left side. It hurts to breath and expand my stomach. I can t sleep on my stomach anymore either.. This has really frightened me and I have no insurance, so I don t know how I m going to pay for it if its serious.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may be having pleurisy as you are having pain during respiration. Treatment of it is breathing excercises, antibiotics and analgesic. You need to get chest x ray to confirm it and exclude chest conditions. Vitamin B and C help in the recovery. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
