What Causes Dryness In Vagina Post Complete Hysterectomy?
I ve had a full hysterectomy almost 2 years ago. I m very dry. So I used new vaginal gell called replens long lasting vaginal gel. About an hour later when I used the bathroom, I wiped and black pieces of something was on the toilet paper. Could that be from the new gel or is that something out of my vagina? If so, what could it be?
Hello and thank you for your question! First i'd like to mention that many women suffer from vaginal dryness after a hysterectomy.Vaginal dryness occurs when the vaginal tissues do not secrete sufficient moisture to lubricate the vagina, resulting in a feeling of dryness due to a decline in estrogen levels. So firest of all i would recommend you to talk with your gynecologist about testing your hormone levels. If you do have abnormal levels of hormones, there are a number of treatment options available (creams are available that include both estrogen and testosterone).Using a natural vaginal moisturizer and following a healthy diet, with herbal supplements and plenty of exercise, is a good starting point for eliminating dryness. Best regards!
